About TREAT

WHAT IS TREAT?

TREAT Is a Collaborative Project!

TREAT is a consortium of the Old Town Playhouse, City Opera House, Dennos Museum at NMC, and Traverse Symphony Orchestra.  Rotary Charities provided a significant development grant for this project.  The arts and cultural organizations TREAT serves come from across the region from Petoskey to Manistee and range in size from the National Cherry Festival to the Gaylord Chamber Orchestra.  TREAT is the most significant collaborative arts project in the region and one of the most significant in the nation.  TREAT is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

What are TREAT’s Results to Date?

In its first two years TREAT served over 110 organizations with ticketing, web listings, newsletters, and joint marketing.  TREAT has processed over 150,000 tickets producing over $2.5 million in revenue to the participating organizations.  It has generated over $79,000 in donations to these organizations.   Tickets are sold online, through an 800 number service, and a kiosk box office at Horizon Books for all TREAT events.  TREAT operates the first regional arts web portal that lists featured events, hosts a comprehensive regional arts calendar, and has advanced search capabilities.

TREAT’s Mission and Objectives.

TREAT’s mission is to assist regional arts and cultural organizations to improve long-term sustainability through expanded ticketing, increased revenues, broader market exposure, and more effective marketing.  Additionally TREAT supports the sustainability and the financial strength of Consortium Members.  This mission enhances cultural tourism and regional economic development.

Why TREAT?

Regional arts organizations need new vehicles to increase their financial strength, expand market exposure to wider audiences, and improve long-term sustainability.  Concurrently, patrons across the country are demanding more flexibility in ticketing.  Organizations with advanced ticketing consistently show increased revenues.  Strong joint marketing efforts in the arts community are essential to enhance cultural tourism and regional economic growth.
